St. Matthew’s Community Outreach and the South Carolina Bar Young Lawyers Division partner in the Cinderella Project in Charleston with the primary goal of providing underprivileged teenage girls with beautiful formal wear for their spring dances. In 2010, along with our community partners, including Maddison Row and Bella Bridesmaid, we are hoping to have another successful event with a huge impact on the local community.
Since 2001, the St. Matthews Community Outreach Cinderella Project has helped over a thousand of girls with dresses and accessories.
In the winter, formal dresses, jewelry, and other accessories are collected to create a festive “Cinderella Boutique.” Girls from area high schools who may not be able to afford a dress for their proms are invited to visit the “boutique” to choose a dress and accessories. Music plays, food is served, and help is on hand for each girl to find that perfect dress. Door prizes are handed out every hour to lucky girls. As they leave the boutique, each girl is given a “goodie” bag filled with beauty products and other prom necessities.
Please help us continue making a difference in these girls’ lives by making a donation of a gift certificate to be given to a girl shopping at the boutique or “goodie” bag supplies.
All donations are tax-deductible through the St. Matthew’s Community Outreach Center, which is a non-profit organization with 501(c) 3 status and is registered with the Secretary of State. Upon donation, you will be provided with a receipt for donation.
If you have any questions or you want any additional information, please do not hesitate to contact me. Thank you for supporting the Cinderella Project!
